Ho Chi Minh was the Communist Guerrilla Leader of the Vietminh League. The Communists battled the French for control over Vietnam, but was defeated in 1954. Ho Chi Minh's Democratic Republic was formed in the North, while the Republic of Vietnam remained in the South. Ho Chi Minh ordered the unification of all Vietnam, but the South was aided by United States Troops to control Ho Chi Minh's aggression against the South. To this day, Vietnam is unified under the Communist Principles proclaimed by Ho Chi Minh.
